Who can get involved?

The USA community is being built for people working in or alongside the US energy sector, from students and early-career professionals to executives, researchers, and independent consultants. Formal Global Community participation is available to EI members at any membership grade.

Do I need to be an EI member?

You can follow public USA community updates and explore these resources. EI’s current Global Community guidance requires EI membership to join a community. Eligibility for individual activities will be stated when each event is confirmed.

Is there a cost?

EI membership has its own options and fees. USA event dates, ticket prices, and participation arrangements are still being developed; any free-event or free-membership policy remains subject to confirmation.

Are events in person or virtual?

Both formats are planned: virtual webinars and workshops, regional in-person events, technical talks, mentoring, and networking. The proposed kickoff is a virtual panel, with its date still to be confirmed.

How is this different from the global EI?

Energy Institute USA is a US-focused Global Community within the Energy Institute. It brings local connections and perspectives into the wider professional network; it is not a separate membership body.

What regions does it cover?

The community has a national scope across the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, West Coast, and Mountain West. Regional programming is being shaped around participants’ interests and locations.

How can I volunteer?

Contribute on a recurring basis or help with a single project. Potential areas include committee support, events, technical working groups, mentoring, and regional connections. Explore the volunteering path on the Get involved page.
